It doesn't have to be any specific lullaby. The songs children remember from childhood are the ones that spoke to their little hearts. Like me for example, every time I hear "you are my sunshine" I tear up because my grandma sang it to me before bed every night when I was a baby all the way up to when I was 7-8 and in foster care. She would sing it to me on the phone every night at 8 o'clock. Its not the song but the love in it. So Amy song you find sweet and special your little one will love as well. <3
Oh boy I need to look at what I write before I send.
*insist I sing it like Ernie
My husband plays the guitar for my boys, they love Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeplin lol
Geek mom in love that song! Maybe it's time to start singing it. Although now that my daughter is familiar with it she may inais5i sing it like Erie lol
Thanks ladies, I'm definitely gonna look these up!! I love to sing, especially to the babe, so I'm excited to learn some new songs just for her. :-)
I remembered another one... the Sesame Street classic... 'I Don't Want to Live on the Moon' which to this day makes me cry :-)
Mostly old school hymns from sunday school!
All the Pretty Little Ponies (some versions use All the Pretty Little Horses).
I used to rock my little one while singing James Taylor's 'Sweet Baby James' except I changed it to his name and sang "Sweet Malcolm James" instead. It always worked. Slept like a champ.
I often sing brahms lullaby to my first child and she loves it(: i would also sing the same when i gave birth to my second. Somewhere over the rainbow is a good song also.
Also check out the song Capri by Colbie Calait it is great to sing while you're pregnant.
I have sung somewhere over the Rainbow to my 3 year old since the day she was born. Now she sings it with me when it's bedtime and even sings it to my belly.
I like baby mine, but some of the lyrics kind of bothered me since it's about other people not liking him, so I changed them up a bit in certain parts. Lol... I need to look up stay awake bc I don't even remember that one.
Baby Mine from Dumbo and Stay Awake from Mary Poppins.
Me too. One of my faves when I was little was house at pooh corner, So I sing that to her a lot and will when she's born. I also like there can be miracles by Mariah Carey, and I'll be there to sing to her.
