You can have swelling related to pregnancy. I dont remember how far but I know I felt period pain bloating at 8 weeks

It wouldn't be the baby, you're right. However, the uterus never shrinks back to its previous size after the first baby. Although it does shrink back down significantly. If a woman has a bump earlier on, it's not the baby, it is her uterus,  as it has a head start the second time around. It is very possible to start showing around 9 weeks. You can show a month earlier than the first pregnancy in subsequent pregnancies.

With my first I didn't show until Monday evening and I had her Saturday morning--on her due date.
My second three weeks before I had her and she came a week before her due date.
With my third I carried her differently than I carried the older two and I started showing with her about 16 to 20 weeks.

Thank you! Wow! So early! I am so excited to get my bump back again!
No way you can show at eight weeks the baby is the size of a pebble and the sac is small as well.
