Need advice!

Ok my childs father has not been involved with my pregnancy at all! He has yet to come to a doctor's appointment or help financially. One day I text him about buying a stroller and carseat I just cannot afford it and all my other bills. He says he may be able to get it after his bills are paid  mind you i just found out his lights and alot of other bills have not been paid in months. I also found out that he has been splurging with his family at the beach and all. So the next day after I text him he calls me and says am I still putting him on child support I tell him yes because I can't do it alone. Now I hear from his coworker which is also a friend of mines that he is stressed about it. Now he filed for bankruptcy when we were together but he makes really good money he just doesn't pay his bills. How can this effect me in getting child support from him?

It is based on his income. Filing for bankruptcy does not free you from your legal financial responsibilities when it comes to the support of a child. Since you are not married legally you have the power to do whatever you please as far a visitation goes. As long as he is receiving paychecks or direct deposit from his job. (No cash under the table) you are entitled to a percentage of that income monthly based on how many children you have together.

I think the child support will come out of his paycheck. So as long as he's getting a check.. They will take from it to give to you and baby.
