I would recommend the sex part. With my first I was 41 weeks and by that point I was miserable. I recommend taking a breath the best you can and not think of what you had before but what you'll have soon. It's hard sometimes I know. The night before I went into labor I took a warm bath and had a sponge to soak and squeeze over my shoulders so it wasn't a fight to lay in the tub (ours is smaller). Keep in mind...while in water, it helps your body not have to carry the weight of the baby. I made sure I had my hospital clothing ready when I got into the bath just in case. I then enjoyed a candle lit evening with my husband and had some of the best sex. I went into labor at 6 am that morning. One more thing ....try lavender oil for relaxation and ginger for that pukey feeling.

It doesn't really matter what everyone else has done. The average first time mom doesn't deliver until closer to 41 weeks. Tell them to leave you alone.
It's perfectly safe for you to take a bath. Most doctors and midwives recommend it. People even labor and deliver in bath tubs, after their water breaks. As long as the water is clean, it's perfectly safe. Only about 10% of women experience their water breaking on their own. Only about 1% of those women. Aren't aware of their water breaking or leaking.
I can't stand people touching my feet mainly when their wet. Its like nails to a chalk board to me, I was told not to take baths this late on account of not knowing if my water breaks. I have my boyfriend rub my back but then again that lasts for 15 minutes and then he's asleep.
This is my first, everyone I've ever known has had their babies 38 weeks the latest. My mom, sisters, friends, cousins, coworkers and in-laws. Doesn't help that I have my sisters calling everyday reminding me and telling me to hurry up, I'm taking to long.
Hi. Oh boy, do I feel you. I'm only 8 months, but share many of your experiences. Not breathing, eating, rib kicks, bladder punches, heartburn, fatigue, etc. Just curious: is this your first? This is my 3rd, but I'm wondering, because you say you're 40+, and I hear that 1st children often take longer than 40 weeks. Take care.
Raspberry leaf tea isn't meant to bring on labor. It strengthens and tones your uterus and can be consumed throughout pregnancy.
Your anxiety, stress and discomfort are causing your body to produce adrenaline. That is the enemy of labor. It can delay and even stop labor. I know it's not easy. I've done it my self for a 5th time now, but you have to find a way to relax. Go get a massage or a pedicure. Take a warm bath multiple times a day, if you need to. I almost promise you that labor will happen as soon as you relax almost no get that adrenaline out of your system.
