Playing...

My daughter is 18 months, I'm due in 3 weeks w baby 2. My daughter will wake up and play in her crib for an hour or so before asking to get up. Sometimes I feel like I'm neglecting her, any other kids do this? I feel like since she's not crying it's okay to let her play...

Hi, I do this every morning. It's nice for them to chill before getting up properly I think x

I wait till my daughter calls for me. Sometimes it's right when she wakes up, and sometimes she plays/sings for a while. My daughter is 2 but she's not in a crib so I only worry about her getting into her drawers and pulling everything out, but she passed that stage now. I'm due in 10 days so it's nice to know that if baby wakes up then you don't have to rush in there to get her out. You can get baby content and then go and get your toddler. Don't feel bad. If it works for you and your daughter than let it work. "Don't fix it if it ain't broke"(;

I have a 17-month-old and am due today with baby #2. I do exactly the same thing. :) It's good for my little guy to know how to entertain himself. He usually wakes up, but doesn't fuss for 30 or so minutes and stays in his crib singing to himself and playing with quiet toys and books. Don't feel guilty! Especially since you're gonna need all the help you can get to cope with 2 babies under 2. :)
