They r considered a class "c" drug. I hold off as long as I could do not take these as well, but I started coughing so bad I thought I put myself into labor! I went to the ER and everything. Luckily I was not in labor just cramping very badly from coughing so much. The doctor said that I needed to start taking them or else I could do some damage. Needless to say my girl is here now with no health problems. You have to do what's right for you and baby, it's up to you.
There are also natural cough drops at health food stores you can take too
Are you mucousy as well? It'll help you feel better either way.
This works for anyone, my god mom couldn't sing for a month until she said something about phlegm stuck in her throat etc.. Sang quite well last night after just a day or two using this.
Take apple cider vinegar (with the mother), raw honey (regular works too), lemon and cayenne pepper. You can play with the ratios to suit taste.
½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 3 tablespoons of all natural organic honey
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
You basically mix just it all together. You can take a few tablespoons as is or add it to a mug of warm/ room temp water as well. Cold water might hurt if you have a sore throat.
I beat my cold in 3-4 days but I forgot about the above, that helps lots too, especially since you're already hit hard with the cold. I took lots of vitamin c from tangerines and kiwis daily, and emergency packet or two, boiled ginger and garlic tea, fresh garlic (one raw clove mixed in food daily), and also a few tablespoons of coconut oil (anti:viral/bacterial/fungal). I also has lots of fresh veggies, dark leafy greens and other fruit too.
I did take a day off of work to sleep and just rested. Woke up feeling off on a Sunday, rested, worked Monday and felt fine, felt awful Tuesday and stayed home, then worked wed/Thurs but felt great Fri/sat
Hope that helps and you feel better.
