any horse mammas on here??

Hey girls. My names bre. I have three horses and have had a strong rodeo and barrel racing career. I am going on sixteen weeks pregnant, and im loosing my mind not being able to ride my horses! None of them are gentle, so I dont want to risk it. I miss my rodeos so much! How did any of you cope without riding your ponies? ;/

I'm only 7 weeks and I want to ride my horse desperately but my husband is the forbidding me to. We had a friend get thrown and lose her baby. I know I don't have to listen to him but if something did happen I would be wrecked. They're draft crosses so it's a long way down haha. I still go spend time and do ground work with them and what not

I stopped riding at 20 week's, just because I couldn't get on or off my 16h ex racing thoroughbred anymore! If I could have got on safely I would have carried on as he is so safe and always looks after me. I'm 27+3 now and going crazy bot riding :( I have lunged a few times just to keep from losing my mind haha :) can't wait to jump back on my boy <3

That's why I kept riding gently and left the harder riding for the leaser. I've had my girl for 7 years and I trust her, but I'm still scared to hurt the baby. I really only stopped riding completely because my husband was uncomfortable with it. I can't wait to get back to it though!

I rode my horse until I was 7 months pregnant. It was her last year too. She was getting too old. But anyways I was showing her while having a belly. I barrel race so I do speed event. You Just Have To Be careful not to hit your belly also have to know and trust your horse even though they are unpredictable. But I've had her for many years so I knew her and her quirks.

I was able to keep riding until about 34 weeks! My mare is a little crazy, so I mostly slowed down and stuck to trail rides and riding with friends. It's hard though. Now I'm 39 weeks and I actually had to find a half-leaser because I felt so bad not being able to ride. Just spend extra quality time bathing/grooming etc. It's not the same but it helps.  :)

I love riding my husband got me a horse as a wedding gift, an she was kept at his grandparents ranch, after baby #2 his grandfather got very sick and couldn't take care of the ranch and we had to sell our horses and most cows, my heart was broken, i cried a lot, so my husband found us another hobby, atv riding, not the same but still fun, im guessing you know people who own horses, why not ask them if you can come over and ride a more gentle horse, or if you are willing buy or trade one of your horses, my firstborn was 6 months old when i first got her on a horse, you love it your baby will too i assure you =) good luck
