With my first I planned on going back so we started researching daycares during 2nd trimester because of cost and waiting lists.  6 week old daycare is crazy expensive. Make sure you're really going to make enough at your job to make it worth your while--or make sure you're committed to and love your career.  My salary/career choice was not worth it.  We ultimately cut costs everywhere we could so I could stay home.   If you're on your own and can't quit your job I suggest networking with your coworkers, neighbors & friends to figure out your options for a roommate to keep your living expenses down.  It is sooo expensive to live alone.

I will be going back to work after 12 weeks. We have already reserved or spot in daycare. Our daycare that our daughter goes to always has a waiting list, especially for babies. Their waiting list is usually about 6 months.  We love our daycare.

We live in a small town & without commuting 35 minutes to the city, I'm pretty limited to just minimum wage jobs. Luckily my husband makes just enough as a manager here that I'll be staying home with our children. I know single parents are usually granted the help they need to get by for childcare, foodstamps, housing assistance etc. I've worked in childcare & some of them have waiting lists for a year! In home is cheaper but always always do your research! One person should never be responsible for more than 5 kids at a time (may be different in other states) but if there's one adult to 16 children you can guarantee your child isn't getting properly cared for! Daycare centers aren't always good either though, last one I worked at was so short on help they barely did interviews just hired whoever came through the door no background check or anything. Not to scare you ladies I'm just saying, know who's watching your babies a lot of times these people are putting in as many or more hours with the kids than the parents.

I plan on going back to work as soon as I am able. This is my second child. I actually went back to work as soon as my first child turnt one month old. I don't have child care. I work evenings and my husband works early mornings so we are able to keep our own kids.

I'm going back to work after 6 weeks.. I'm planning on getting state assitense with childcare but cannot apply for that until the baby is here.  That makes it hard because there are waiting lists for daycares... I'm going to be a single mother so I'll be learning as I go I think.

Ive been looking into home daycares in my area. I know that their availability changes a lot. Im due in April so im going to start making contact with people in mid March just so we can meet and i can get more details. I did hear that public daycares could have a long waiting list so its important to get on them right away.

I will be heading back to work after maternity leave. Still don't have child care set up. It's hard when I barely make enough to feed us & I can't get any help. And child care is expensive but I can't stop working. I am hoping to get this figured out soon as I have 18 days till my due date. :/
