disabilities??Would my doctor tell me?

Would my Ob have told me by now if my baby were to have any disabilities like downs syndrome or autism? I'm 36 weeks had a awful dream my baby came out in the worst shape. I didn't get that test that checks through the amniotic fluid but could they still tell by ultra sounds and stuff?

The doc told us that they can tell a lot from the bloodworks, together with the scans at around 12 weeks. So i'm sure your medical professional would have said something if there was anything to be concerned about. Even so, the tests at 12 & 20 weeks only present you with the odds. They aren't absolute. Hope the dreams are kinder to you! All the best for a healthy, beautiful baby.

If they had picked up anything, you would know by now so try and relax. I will just say that autism can't be diagnosed while you are pregnant. Its a developmental disorder so doesn't show until a baby has started developing into a small child. But I'm sure you'll be fine :)

I declined all the tests but my 18-20wk scan and every scan since has picked up an abnormality. They got a specialist and explained it at the scan then I had a follow up with my ob who talked me through it. I'm pretty confident you'd know by now if something was up.

Most women have pregnancy nightmares  or axientys about those type of things there completely normal to have. If your concerned enough ask more questions on your baby with your ob its okay to be curious also.
