My first was all natural no drugs of any kind I went to the hospital with contractions and my water broke 5 min later and he was 3 days early my second I had contractions went in and had her 4 days early yes I needed pitocin but that was to help hurry my labor because her heart rate dropped dangerously low before they gave me any drugs she was 4 days early

First pregnancies, when allowed to progress naturally, actually average a little over 41 weeks in length. The overall average is significantly shorter, mostly due to impatience and the convenience of pitocin and surgical delivery for doctors and hospitals, despite the risks. My first was born only a day after his due date but I fully expect this one to wait a bit longer.
