So I am 22 weeks pregnant and my baby is going to be born early due to a heart condition I have, we are not sure how early yet but my question is how far along were you ladies when u bought big baby stuff such as crib, car seat ect.

I bought the big things around 28 weeks. But wasn't prepared fully until 33 weeks

I was told around the time you are now that mine is coming early before 34 weeks. We just bought a car seat n a few clothes. Im trying to wait till my baby shower for everything but my anxiety is killing me. But if she comes early you will have time to buy stuff bc im sure she will b staying at the hospital atleast for a couple of days depending on when she comes

Pfft as soon as I find out the gender there's no stopping me lol! Apart from the pram I leave that until the end, apart from my last born I bought the pram at 20 week, only reason being it was too much of a good deal to pass on. As for prematurity issue, my daughter was born at 24 week weighing 1lb 4oz, prem babies dont wear clothes as the colour of there skin is a good indicator on oxygen levels etc, my daughter didnt wear clothes until she weighed at least 4lb. She spent 7 month in scbu and it was the worst experience of my life, however on the bright side she is now 7 years old and no learning difficulties, infact she is very bright, only problem being she lost her eye site through long term oxygen use but after operation's she is now only visually impaired and can see with extreme high prescription glasses. I think 20-25 weeks. I had my son at 34 weeks. He was in the nicu for 5 days.He weighed 5 pounds and 2 ounces. I hope your baby will be healthy.Good luck to you!

We bought all our big stuff (or put the order in) between weeks 16-20.  It's a good thing too because our rocker got delayed and won't come in until I'm 29w+ (I hope!)

So sorry to hear your little one will be born early, hopefully not too early as you mentioned! My daughter was born at 30 wks. Which by then I had NOTHING! I am a huge procrastinator so nvm me! But I will say, after leaving my daughter in the NICU after delivering her, I was happy I didn't have to stare at a massive amount of baby stuff especially since they said it could be 2 mths before she came home. I would wait until you know for sure the baby will be born closer to full term or the week exactly, then you can determine how long the NICU stay will be. If no NICU stay then buy away!!!
