bribing the nurses?

I've heard that when i go in to have my child, i should bring snacks, sweets or goodies for the nurses and doctors taking care of me.
That they would be more willing to help me compared to the people down the hall screaming their heads off.

So have y'all done this? Or heard of this? What are your views on it?

My first was in special care for a couple of weeks as he was born 5wks early. The nurses and doctors were amazing, couldn't fault their care at all. When we finally had the all clear to bring him home, I gave the team a thank you card and a huge tub of chocolates to say thank you. Lots of people leave things for staff when they're leaving but never heard of it when going in lol. Can't hurt but I agree with Jsyska, I don't believe they will favouritise those that do, it's their job and they do it well. Best wishes :)

I'm a postpartum nurse.  Some patients bring us cookies and cupcakes and candy and things like that.   We appreciate it but it doesn't make us treat them any different.   It's our job to make sure all patients get the best care possible.

With my first I bought two thank you cards. One for the midwide who delivered my son and another card for the team in general who looked after me.

A nice sweet message of appreciation will always make someone feel good, valued and also makes for a nice keepsake.

I didn't do it, instead I apologized as soon as I met them lol they just laughed at me and said they were used to it

Never heard of this and nope didn't do this with first pregnancy.  The nurses were really great anyways! :)
