natural

Do you guys think its better to go natural for birth? Or is the pain going to be unbearable?
I have arthritis in my spine and sciatica btw.

Yes. It's very painful but you'll live. There are a lot of risks and side affects to epidurals but if you or the doctor feel that you need one then make the decision for yourself. I was in labor for 16 hours before I decided on one. I was beyond tired and I wasn't dialating. They poked me 3-4 times and my right thigh was numb for two years following my child's birth but the feeling eventually came back. I will decide during my next labor if I will  have one again. I don't necessarily want to  have another one but if I can't handle the pain then I will choose the epidural. I know I can do it without it though.

I had a med-free delivery with my first and definitely plan to do it again. The "slippery slope" of interventions that starts with an epidural and/or induction tends to end far too frequently with an "emergency" c-section. Too risky for me.
My labor was difficult, but it was incredibly empowering and I thought the whole experience was amazing. I never knew how strong I was, and now I know I can do anything I am determined to do. I didn't need drugs to "enjoy" my birth. In my opinion, it's supposed to be hard... and knowing that it's temporary and all worth it in the end was enough to help me through it.
The risk of side effects for both mom and baby were absolutely not worth taking the chance. My body was built for that. I knew I could do it - why wouldn't I?

I would not recommend the epidural. It has caused me more back pain than I ever imagined. I had no spinal pain before the epidural now I suffer with it daily. I did not move when it was done even the guy doing it said I did great. I'd rather have the pain that will go away than what I have.

I chose to have the epidural so that I could enjoy my daughter's birth. I was there with my niece & nephew being born & the pain my sister went through looked unbearable (she had them natural). All she talks about is how much it hurt. The man that did my epidural did it perfectly. I felt no pain from it. I have no side affects from it at all. I plan on doing this birth the same. I dont want to know what thattype of pain feels like, especially if theres something available to help me through it.
