Do what makes you happy, screw everyone else! I'm christian but I don't judge those who aren't! My jesus says love n support all!!!
That's what we decided. I feel he should know about all religions and he can choose how he wants to beleive. But every church experience I had growing up was terrible. Very mean ppl and going to he'll for everything you do. I did research on my own when I was a teen and decided a diff path and my mom flipped lol
I was jus thinking about it. And I see many unnecessary posts tho I am not discouraging anyone I thought it would be an interesting subject. And I am not being rude to anyone:) I have thought about it bc I recently learned of a preschool that forces small children to pray over thier food. Yes its a preg forum where preg women post...last time I checked I'm preg. If you didnt like agree or whatever your issue is then proceed without commenting. I obviously wanted to talk to other moms to be who feel the same. Also like I said I thought it would be interesting to talk about and I was not rude or derogatory towards anyone ;)
people post about god on here all the time everyday. but you are right- it is not needed. not everyone wants to be asked to pray all the time....
i wanted to show support for the original poster. I have just as much right to my beliefs as anyone else.
I have no religion, my kids dont either. But they have been told about 'god' and 'heaven' and if they decide to choose a religion for themselves , they must respect all religions and nonbelievers, and not throw it down people throats. I believe there is a god, heaven and hell, but never will i have a religion.
I feel like this was not a necessary post. This is a pregnancy app. Dont get me wrong u can post whatever u want. I just feel u shouldnt post things in regards to God that could discourage others.
Good for you!
We are doing the same in our house! If s/he finds religion later in life great but indoctrination seem wrong to me
I was raised in the Christian faith. My faith is not blind. It's based on evidence and the wondrous works that Jesus Christ has done in my life. I have not always felt this way. I will teach my child about God not out of tradition, but because I know what God can do because he has done it for me and I have experienced his loving power and increase. I can't choose for my child what he will believe but I won't stop living my testimony. Believing is a personal choice. My child has the ability and the free will to choose whether or not to believe but I know that as for me in my house we will serve the Lord. He is my Alpha and Omega.
I joke that my husband is a "recovering catholic" he was the oldest in his family, so went all the way through confirmation before his family switched to just once of twice a year church (once his youngest sister had first communion) i think being told you were born with sin in not good for kids.
I do not like how the Christian religions teach blind faith, i think it is very dangerous and has had a negative impact on our society - when people deny science because it conflicts with a bunch of stories written down 5000 years ago? Come on, they made up the stories because they had no other way to explain the world.
I was raised reform jewish, we were taught to question the bible - to view it as stories, and think for ourselves. There are values if repairing the world, because it helps people - not a reward of heaven or threat of hell. There is no afterlife, just life on this planet.
Each religion regardless if its bible based or not has a hard time in a country of opinions. You believe what you believe thats your choice, just make sure your child respects what others believe thats all. Everybody has an opinion, but this is your choice.
