Don't be afraid. I also had to get one due to no progression after 14hours of active labor. Sometimes these thing happen for a reason as mine did. I was devastated when I heard I was going to have to have one and only had five minutes to soak it in and prepare myself. I was on the table and my hands were shaking I was so nervous. But it's not that bad, everyone has different experiences but it's not as bad as we all think when we hear it. Just think, next time all you have to do is go in and deliver with no waiting around and then you have a few recovery days in the hospital (:

It's okay. And it's okay to be afraid.

I had a c section and everthing went just fine. Dont worry if you need one.  Sometimed it is the safest way to go.

I had a Csection yesterday because I was not dilated at all and was showing No signs of progression. My due date was actually tomorrow, but I was trying to go for a vbac.  Getting a Csection isnt as bad as it sounds

Don't be scared! You still have a little while and maybe up to two weeks after your due date. Your Dr will do everything he can before doing a c section. I have 5 days left and only 1 cm and not thinned at all. Keep positive :)
