shots

So my midwife recommend for everyone who wanted to be around the baby to get some shots. My boyfriends family has been ignoring my concerns about it. Am I just freaking myself out ?

I am not getting the the tdap while pregnant its such a new thing and I feel they dont truly know if it can have a bad effect on the fetus.
But it is a good idea to get family updated.

In the UK they only vaccinate the pregnant mother. I got my jab today (28 weeks and it's enough to protect baby till she's old enough for her own jabs).

My husband can't even get the TDAP shot because he has a rare allergy to it! Getting the shot can cause him extreme health problems, but I worry about everyone close to baby not being vaccinated. I'm just going to have to pray like crazy!

A little baby recently died from whooping cough a family member held him and that's how easy it was. Please urge them to get them done otherwise keep baby well away for a few weeks atleast.

Toy can also ask your family to give their doctor a call regarding their last tetanus shot- the whooping cough booster is often included with the tetanus booster. They may be up to date and not realize it.  It is very important though,  as whooping cough can be fatal for babies.

They are talking about the DTAP vaccine.  Babies can't get the vaccine until they are older.   Anyone around the baby should be up to date because whooping cough can be fatal to infants, but this is also why they recommend mom gets the vaccine while pregnant so the immunity well pass to baby.

And your doctors said who ever is around the baby needs to get it? Did he or she say what would happen if they don't & and their around the baby?

Something for the whooping cough and flu. She said the flu one wasn't as important as the whooping cough one.
