so frustrated with my babys name!

Ok so my bf and I made a decision to name our baby girl Aliyah we told everybody and everyone thought it was perfect for our little one I have been talking to my little girl in my tummy calling her aliyah and getting used to it until my boyfriend looked up what her name meant on the stupid internet...well turns out aliyah is a Muslim Hebrew name and comes from like immigrants migrating to the east and worshiping Ala and crap....sooooo now he hates the name but I can't think of anything else I love undo disappointed he wants to change her name just because of what the internet says it means I mean come on its just rediculous to me I'm American and Mexican and he is Asian am I overreacting or should I agree with him? He says he wants our baby's name to mean something beautiful not just slap a name on her that sounds good....

It's not Muslim, it's Jewish. It simply means a journey to Israel. I think it's a lovely name, but if its religious connotations bother you, you should alter the spelling like mashamaria suggested: Aaliyah, Aliah, Alia. Aliya...

Write it withput "h" at the end. So it will not be Muslim.  But still sound the same. Nice name by the way.

I think the name you give her has meaning because you chose it. It has meaning because you love your daughter. Who cares what the internet says.
