true labor?

Ftm and I'll be 40 weeks on Friday. I'm 2 cm dilated as of this morning and my Dr. swept my membranes. I'm pretty sure I'm having true contractions they're 7 mins apart with tightening in my lower stomach with back pain. I've had Braxton hicks quite a bit and it's hard to tell if it's true labor. How do I know?:/

They will become stronger. At first they won't bother you and just feel like little period cramps then they will begin to become more intense and frequent. When my doctor did my membranes I ended up having my daughter the next day

I'm 38 weeks and 3 days. I woke up about 4 1/2 hours ago with cramping. Since them it's gotten worse. Tightening in my stomach and back. Legs cramping. Every 2-5 mins and I kinda feel like it's getting stronger. Trying to wait it out as long as possible seeing as how I have and appt in 7 hours. Not really sure what to do either
