I had both my boys in the midwife unit in bath . Wanted birthing pool but first time it was not available and second there wasn't enough time to fill it as bubba arrived lol It really helped ease pain for me as had back Labour and moved it to front.only have it if all going ok I had just gas n air with both. Scared for third as as was so lucky went both times way I wanted might not be so lucky this time but would want to give birth in bath again

I had one with my second. It was great! He was 3500 kg so it wasn't easy. It didn't make the birth easy but definitely more tolerable. Both of my births were without epidural. Both in hospitals.
The midwife kept pushing my butt down because you don't want to confuse the baby. If it's coming out in water, they don't breathe yet. If it's outside the start breathing.
It was great being able to move around as your body requires.
My partner was outside supporting me.
One thing I would do differently is make sure the water isn't too warm. It was really nice when I got in but after a while at labour I was exhausted and the water was too warm. I was so tired, I didn't have the energy to ask for cooler water.
Overall - an amazing experience. No stitches. Baby slipping out into warm water is beautiful..

I didn't have a water birth but I sat in the tub when I was in labor, it made the pain a lot more manageable. I ended up with an emergency c-section and won't be able to give birth naturally ever or else I would do it.
