Are you breastfeeding? If not, maybe try an over-the-counter water pill. That seemed to help me get the swelling down after almost a week!!

I think we all know when our body has reached its limits I had asked for a c-section as well because I had been in pain for two days and I wasn't. Dilating they put me on pitocin and nothing it just made contractions hurt more and the doctor that was on duty decided to break my water and that didn't help dilate either I spent a little over a day with my water broken and was getting an infection I had a fever and baby had pooped inside it was until Sunday morning they finally decided to do the c-section during which I lost alot of blood my baby was born at 6:36am and I didn't get to meet him until 1pm he was fine until he too started getting a fever then they took him to the nicu and has been there today he finally gets to go home thank god he is doing fine

I too was very swollen. Mine ended up being eclampsia. I had a seizure in the ER. Thank God it was there or I wouldnt be here to say this.
If the swelling doesnt go down by 3 days, if you expereince headaches or see spots dont hesitate, go to the ER.

I'm currently going through the some what same issue as you. Not the different town or insurance issue but I am on my second day of a c section. My labor was pretty terrible as well, I did 4 hours of pushing and 2 hours of it without my epidural. They wanted to give me more motivation to get him out so they disconnected it. I told them 3  hours into it that my body can't take this anymore and I needed a c section no one listened, he was right there but his head was bent a curtain way basically stuck behind my pelvic bone. I went through two doctors before my the big C. I was eventually told I was right I would need a c section. I tried so many different methods to push him out, they even tried to use a vaccum thing he pulled while I pushed still nothing. Afterwards it was very difficult to move let alone concentrate. Day one it was so hard to do anything, they had me walk around and it helped so much but not enough. My wonderful boyfriend took care of everything so I could rest for a few hours. I was still super sore afterwards and still am. But what I've done is walk, readjust myself, drink lots of water or juice. My feet, legs and hands swelled up like balloons. I was told that its normal, after pregnancy you have all those extra hormones a d water weight. Still. Just elevat your feet, drink fluids, eat healthy and you'll be fine. Don't forget to walk around either. Not to much, just up and down a ball way like twice.

Keep it clean and dry. Antibacterial soap, nothing strongly scented it will irritate it and keep a maxi pad against your incision to soak up any discharge or moisture. It is normal for it to bleed especially if you are doing too much.

You should definitely keep them elevated but my Dr told me my last pregnancy that it's actually better to walk because it gets the blood flowing back into your legs. I know it sounds uncomfortable, I had trouble walking up and down the stairs after mine my feet were so swollen I couldn't bend them I had to march around. Drink Water, walk as much as you can, but also rest. The more you do, the heavier you're receive going time bleed as well
