what now?

So i went to the doctor today and had slightly raised no. Bottom number was 90 then also had protein in my urine. I have to collect my urine for 24 hours then go in for more blood work. Im just curious as to what this could mean. Will i end up being induced? Im currently 37+2.

I'm a labor nurse and given the fact that you are 37.2 you are very close and your baby will do just fine however if your pressure continues to be elevated and and your 24 hour urine comes back high it will all depend on how high for each of those. It's is a risk vs benefit thing. It's better to deliver sooner if you are developing pre-eclampsia however if it doesn't continue to increase its safe to stay pregnant. Your urine may come back totally fine since it's a much more specific test then just a urine sample and your pressure might have just been elevated that one instance. Where I work we don't like pressures to be over 160/100.

Pre-eclampsia is a combination of protein in urine (above a certain amount) and elevated blood pressure.  My cousin had protein in her urine but her 24 hour collection was normal.

I'd your urine tests high for protein the could diagnosis you with pre-eclampsia. And sometimes they induce because of it.
