Natural Family Planning

My husband and I are going to be trying to conceive. We want to try natural family planning. Does anyone know any details about this? We have our basal thermometer and know that we have to take my temperature as soon as I wake up every morning. When my temp is .9 higher I am ovulating. What else should I know?

Thank you! We didn't really want to have to buy tests but I will check Amazon to see pricing :). I am a diabetic so the sooner we get pregnant the easier it will be on my body. I will also try the app!

I haven't ever used the thermometer, but I know that some also use ovulation tests along side tracking the temperature (and from what I understand, yes, take it first thing in the morning and when you see a steady increase, you are ovulating).  Ovulation tests can be purchased at amazon for fairly cheep (just the strips are the cheapest).

You can also use a tracker or app to help you document all the information and make the best guess- MedHelp has both and I have used them, they work pretty well- just scroll over the "Health Tools" tab at the top of the page and then click on "Devices and Apps" to find them. The app will sync to your account so you can view it on the site too.
