Is it crazy to be SO big at 18 weeks?

1st
I am 18 weeks, and every time I go out, people think I'm like 6-7 months pregnant!  Is this normal with twins?

Mine were one on top of the other all the way through to 27 weeks, now they lay on a funny angle as they have run out of room sideways.

Glad you're measuring perfect. I just got back from the Dr. and she said I was measuring about 20 weeks  (I'm 17 weeks) I've also gained about 10 lbs. (orig. 120lbs - now 130!) She said they are still one on top of each other and baby B is quite high. She said in her experience everyone carries so differently. Some people stick way out and others are more wide in the pelvic area. It is amazing what the human body can do!

Well, I went for my regular OB visit, and she said my size was perfect, so now I'm not so worried.  I have already put on 10 pounds (I was 115 to start and am now 125).  I, like I mentioned before, just hope I don't run out of room in there and go into labor!  I wonder if my water will break this time (pending that I don't have to schedule a c-section).  With my daughter, it was kind of nice, because my water broke so I had plenty of time to get to the hospital, and relax before the contractions kicked in!

Yes, every body frame is different.  I did not look like I was having twins.  I have a fairly long torso so I guess that is why I was not poking out quite as far..although I felt like I was...

I still wonder where all those additional lbs are going to go!  my belly already is same size as it was full term with my daughter.  (she weighed 7lb 11 oz).... but so far so good:  No stretch marks and while my bellybutton isnt an innie anymore, it isnt an outie either.  it is a flatie :)

It is fascinating to hear everyone else's experience!  I am glad to know that some of you are already much further along, and have not run out of room for the babies (my great fear!)

Wow, this is interesting. I am 23 weeks and 3 days and when I went to the doctor on last week at 22 weeks, she said I measured up to 28 weeks. For some reason, I don't think I look all that big. Some people tell me, yea you are sticking out there and some are saying I don't look all that big to be carrying twins. I have gained 16 pounds, which the doctor said I am maintaining my weight really well. I guess everyone frame is different.

I am 5'2" and weighed 111lb before getting pregnant with my twins. I am 28+6 and am about the same size as I was full term with my daughter.  I always seemed to measure roughly 6-8 weeks more than I am.  So far I have put on 9kg, or almost 20lbs, which I am starting to wonder if it is enough.

I posted belly photos this weekend. They are from two weeks ago.  Maybe we should all post belly photos to compare! :))))

Thanks for all your comments!  I just feel so big, and I start to get scared I'll just suddenly go into labor!  I didn't show like this with my daughter until I was 6 months!  I am 5'3" and, like babyb, have a smaller frame, so it just looks like I'm ready to pop!  Anyhow, thanks for sharing your experiences!

prior to getting pregnant with my boys i was 125-130 lbs. i'm 5'4. lol i REALLY thought i'd run out of room too! by time i was 12 weeks i looked 24 weeks. well....i was HUGE!!!! you know those enormous beach balls that you can buy? i looked like i tried to shove one of those under my shirt. lol. i think they really do run out of room and that's why most multiple births don't go full term. i went into labor at 34 weeks and my babies were small but not super small. one was 5lb. 3 oz and the other was 5 lb 13 oz. so i had over 11 lbs. of baby in there. lol. so if you look at it like that....if it was ONE baby we have one BIG baby in there!

I read something that at 16 weeks with twins (which I'm at) a woman would look twice as big as a singleton pregnancy. And by 6 month you will look full term. I don't have any previous pregnancies to compare too but I feel huge. I've put on approx 10lbs so far, which I think is pretty normal. Definately have that bump in the front that can't be hidden. Wear it proud I say!!!!!!!!
