Nursery Ideas?

I find out on Friday that I am having twins (a boy and girl). "Yippee", SO EXCITED. I am 18 weeks and 3 days and I am trying to get some nursery ideas. For the moment, I do want them to share rooms until they get a little older. I want something with mixed colors like pink and blue. I know for my baby shower my theme is Noah's Ark but for their nursery, it's hard to find that theme. Any ideas?

I found cute boy/girl bedding at Babies R Us ~ by Kidsline.  The girl bedding was pink and brown with polka dots and a large brown daisy.  The boy bedding was blue and brown with polka dots and a large brown star.  We had to take the boy bedding back b/c we found out it's actually 2 girls.

Yesterday, I ordered nursery wall letters off of ebay (spelling Hailey & Hannah) for thier rooms (to match the bedding sets.)  It's amazing how the people who make those can match almost any theme or bedding set you get.  So pretty.  I am so excited about them!

I am not really a theme person either probably because I used to paint murals for kids' rooms so I got tired of them but it is definitely personal preference.

When I was thinking about a nursery if I were to have b/g twins (I have g/g twins now so easy since I have another dd 18 months old so used her nursery), I was going to do a really neutral room and accent with pastels in the bedding. I wanted it to be really clean looking and breezy. For example, I was going to paint the walls a warm beige and then have white bedding with pale pink and light blue accents and do those hanging gauzy material above the cribs.

Lately, (sorry anyone) I am getting tired of the chocolate brown and pastels and have been loving the black, white and pink/light blue accents lately. Sort of that early 20's feel (art deco?).

Have fun!!!

I am not a theme person so we painted the walls a shade of green.  Their bedding is matching fabric patterns but her's is pink/brown and his is blue/yellow polka dots.  My mil does custom bedding so she did the bed skirts and bumper pads.
Have fun looking for bedding!!!

Hi April Baby,
I have also seen a white chest of drawers with the draws pink and the other white one with blue drawers so you know whose clothes go where. Our nursery is looking very plain as we are not finding out the sex's. I have convinced myself that at least I wont have to repaint the room in a few years when they out grow their nursery! We just have the jungle theme, can be for boys, girls, or both.

congratulations on having twins!  I am also having one boy one girl!  We went with winnie the pooh theme for our nursery.  You could do something neutral like that. There is also care bears too.  I like the idea of splitting the room with different colors on each side like heatherlynn22 suggested, that would be fun to do!  Have fun :-)

we did our boys nursery in baby jungle animals.

since you're having boy/girl twins what about doing half the room in two toned blue stripes then the other half in two tones pink stripes? i saw that somewhere and it was SO freakin cute. than on one half of the room was one crib all done in blue with cars, trucks and what not and the other half the crib was done up in pink with butterflies and dragonflies. i thought it was just the cutest thing EVER!!! and to split the room from blue to pink there was a white strip down each side.
