Twin A measuring 2 days smaller than twin B at 11 weeks

Hi All. I am currently 11 weeks 1 day pregnant with fraternal twins. I had my NT scan yesterday and everything looked perfect. Both babies' folds were under 1mm. Heart rates were 158 & 162. Doctor said everything looked fine, but twin A was measuring at 10 weeks 5 days, and twin B at exactly 11 weeks. At my 8 week scan they were both exactly the same. I am actually having the NT scan redone in a week, because they told me the lab would reject my blood work because one twin was under 11 weeks. Anyway, the doctor didn't seem concerned that one baby was smaller than the other and my husband says its probably a girl (he tries to calm me down), but I can't help but worry. I don't want to seem like a nutcase and ask a million questions in the doctors office, so I leave with my worries kept inside. I'm just wondering if anyone can give some feedback on this. Also, not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I was just put on iron pills because my last blood screening showed I am now anemic, and my thyroid level was slightly low, (which I'm having follow up blood work done for that to decide if I should be put on medication for that). Any personal stories, or advice would be greatly appreciated. I soooooo want to just sit back and enjoy this pregnancy.

I am now 27 weeks and my 2 girls are measuring about 2 weeks apart.  Throughout my entire pregnancy one girl has been smaller than the other and they never thought too much of it.  Now, since the difference is much bigger then I am going for Ultrasounds twice a week just to monitor.  The doctor told me that she doesnt think too much of it, but would like to be cautious.

Ask as many questions as you'd like.  I use to be the same way, till I realized that I needed answers.  The doctors are the best people to answer them.  Unfortunately all the forums can give you is personal experiences.  Yet your doctor knows your history and your babies, therefore they will be able to give you a better answer.

Good luck.

On my first ultrasound the difference between two was 2 days . In my 2nd ultrasound it was 1 day so I think it its just normal. Nothing to worry about. It changes all the time because doctors only estimates the age so dont worry.

2 days is not big.  Mine always measured apart after 7 weeks.  At 35 weeks the girls head and tummy were over 2 weeks difference!

Try not to stress a lot about it. I'm 24 weeks and my baby girl measures 5 days behind my baby boy, so your hubby might be right by saying the small baby is probably a girl, LOL. Everything is well with my twins and my girl seems more active than the boy, Take it easy and enjoy them.

I wouldn't worry about a 2 day difference, esp since your doctor isn't worried. Twins will not always measure the same throughout the pregnancy. I am pregnant with twins and had one measuring 2 days behind around the same time. I am now 16 weeks and they are both measuring together, but like I said...2 day difference isn't going to worry the doctor and you shouldn't worry either. On the iron pills, my doctor put me on iron pills as well when I found out I was expecting twins. Its normal and most likely you will be put on a higher dosage of folic acid, as well. Just try to relax and stay stress free! I know its alot easier said than done...I have to tell myself that daily. :)
