Could it be two?

I was wondering some of the symptoms and signs of twins. I took a first response test at 8dpo and got a very dark positive  immediately. The positive was actually darker then the control line. I thought this had to be a fluke so I took 2 more and same thing. I've also had very bad nausea since before taking the test. My symptoms are definitely magnified. Including needing 3 naps a day and sleeping all night just to function. I always retain water in the beginning but it usually goes away at 4 weeks, I am now 5 weeks and still swelling and very bloated. I can say this is nothing like the pregnancies I've had before (recurrent miscarriages). I do have one son and even with him I didn't find out until missed period. I am high risk already and the thought of twins has me more worried. Also I am a fraternal twin. Can anyone tell me the earlier signs they had?

During my pregnancy ( I have 2 year old twin boys) nothing was "abnormal" or out of the ordinary to indicate twins. All my numbers were rather low, my belly was normal until I got into the later stages of my 2nd trimester. I didn't know until the first u/s that there were two babies and didn't feel it till closer to 28--29 weeks when they were both kicking and punching at the same time.

I wouldn't be surprised, between the immediate answer on the test and the fact that you are a fraternal twin yourself.  When I was pregnant with twins I didn't have any really early signs but did pop up immediately on tests as early as I felt like testing.

In my first trimester, I honestly didn't feel any different or have magnified symptoms. If anything, I had a dream first trimester. I had zero morning sickness & the only thing was I felt tired a lot. When I found out I was pregnant, my HCG levels were only around 235 and my repeat blood work a few days later, the levels were around 650. Now, I have healthy one month old b/g twins :)

Just remember every woman is different & it seems we all have different experiences!

Hi...I am 23 weeks pregnant with twins...I also felt realy bloated in the initial days...I guess your hCG level will give an indication if you are carrying twins. Mine was much higher than normal..
