Vanishing twin syndrome after heart beat

I had an ultrasound at around 8 weeks and it showed twins in separate amniotic sacs measuring the same size exactly (7 weeks 5 days) They both had heart beats considered in the normal range (one was 130, the other was 135) My question is, I have heard a few times that once a strong heart beat and healthy size is established via ultrasound in both twins that the odds for vanishing twin syndrome is lowered. Has anyone heard this or experienced this? Also, anyones experiences with this (good or bad) would be appreciated. This pregnancy is unlike my 3 boys pregnancies. No sickness, just severe fatigue and sore breasts, thats about it!! Has me a bit concerned as I would of expected to be even sicker with two! I am trying not to worry too much but google makes it impossible as there are so many different things about this subject being said. Thanks for any help anyone can offer!!

I had an U/S at 8.5 weeks and it showed twins with two different sacs two heartbeats around 160 each  and both measure same, the doctor then gave me another ultrasound apt. Four days later saying he would like to know the actual date they where after the second ultra sound the tech ended up giving me two ultrasound pictures  with baby a and baby b both looked the same. dad and I both seen two heart beats, the next day my doctor said through a phone call that  a heartbeat wasnt detected in one of the babies, I'm truly at a loss, and pretty sad I'm not sure what to believe and I would like answers.

I forgot to mention, we only saw one sac at 5 weeks, saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks & that's when we saw another sac. We saw Baby B's heartbeat at 7 weeks :) You're past 8 weeks & babies are in separate sacs, I think you'll be just fine :) Yes, we are having a boy & a girl and we're so excited! :)

My husband actually has VA benefits, I WISH they covered the entire family! lol. We will be great, from all my extensive research it typically happens before the 7th week, crossing my fingers though. I see it this way, most of the people posting the horror stories online are doing it as a way of coding, etc. The ones who had good out comes, are way too busy raising twins to be online posting!! hahaha. Can I add you to my friends list thing here? I am some what new to this site so I am still getting the hang of it.

Abstract I know right. I was lucky that I didn't have to pay. I have insurance through my job and va benifits. The VA don't care at all how many times I come but I've decided not to go back. We both need to chill out so we can get to 31 weeks like mommy10 LOL

Congrats :) I'm pregnant with twins, too. I'm 31 weeks & I never got sick til my second trimester & it was only twice during my whole pregnancy. That's it! I had very minor nausea, but it wasn't anything like I expected & like you, I was just very tired & my bbs ached! ;) My twins are also in separate sacs & from what I've read, vanishing twin syndrome is less likely when there are two sacs. Try not to worry & best wishes :)
