Winter twins

Ok so I'm 17w4d pregnant with twins. This is our first set, 3rd pregnancy. I have a 8 & 6 year old daughters. So all this is new to me. I'm not sure what to expect, the first 17 weeks has been tiring and very exciting. So I thought I could start a chat for winter twins and we could share our stories and thoughts with each other. My due date at 42 weeks is January 2, not sure why they use that instead of the 37 weeks which is full term for twins. But getting excited we find out Tuesday what the babies are. :) please share your story or advice you have.

We found out in June that we are having twins. We have 3 girls, 7, 5 and youngest will be 3(by the time the babies come). My EDD is Feb 4 and I will be 37 weeks on Jan 14. My birthday is Jan 10. My DH has been joking that they will come on my birthday.
We have an ultrasound scheduled for Sept 5 and will find out the genders then. :)

Congratulations!!! Mine turn 2 on December 24. :) They're my first! Their 40 week due date was February 14, 2011 (which my own birthday is February 13), My doctor and I had a scheduled csection for 38 weeks on January 31. BUT, they had other plans. I say they wanted to meet Santa, so they came Christmas Eve 2010. <3 my winter babies!

Enjoy your pregnancies everyone! Mine was pretty uneventful up until their birth.

Congrats!! I understand about the birthday, I'll be 37 weeks the beginning of December, and my birthday is November 30. So they might be born on my bday, what a gift that would be for sure. Sept 4, that seems like a long time to wait, my ob likes it done 18-20 weeks.

Yea my due date is Jan 2. Yea I'm hoping to go till 37 weeks too. I can't beleive it is going by pretty fast, I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow so almost half way there. We also find out tomorrow what the twins are and finally get to see them again.
Are you seeing a specialist? I'm not, but I've noticed that few were and didn't know if I should ask about one or not. My ob referred me to my re and the re said that my regular ob would be fine.

I am due on Feb. 6 which is the normal 40 week due date.  My ob told me that they would not let me go pass 38 weeks.  I am hoping to get to 37 weeks but we'll see, everyone tells me that twins are unpredictable.

Congrats! You are in for a wild ride! Our twins are baboes 3 &4 for us as well. We chose to have a homebirth and I gave birth to our twins in march at 39.2 weeks.

I would definitely invest in a twin nursing pillow as we love ours.  We also go through 19 cloth diapers a day so if you are using cloth make sure to have enough. Other things we use a lot are bumbos, tandem stroller(we have the city select baby jogger), binkys and blankets. If you can get some friends or family to come help you when they are born that would be great.

The first six weeks were the hardest for me. Good luck!
