cervix funneling

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with twins and my doctor noticed yesterday that my cervix is opening at the top. Anyone have this happen and still carry to term or at least 34 weeks?

I had the same at 18 weeks and started to dialate. I was placed in the hospital and layed upside down until the could no longer stop my contractions at 26 weeks.. I have heathy 5 year old twin boys.. I did get my steroid shots at 24 weeks.

I had funneling starting around the same week.  I was never put on bed rest or anything though.  Just closely monitored.  It pretty much stayed the same for the duration of my pregnancy.  My twins were born at 36 weeks and 2 days. Hang in there and stay off your feet as much as possible.

Hi,
Opening up of the cervix at 23 weeks is often a sign of a probable preterm delivery. Hence you need to take necessary precautions like rest, drugs that relax the uterus like tocolytic agents. Also the cervix can be surgically closed with the help of a cervical suture. Discuss this with your Doctor.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
