12 weeks Pregnant and discontinuing Xanax

Ok…I have been doing some research about Xanax.  I have been taking it for 5 years now. the last year i was taking 3-4 2mg bars through out the day.  I found out i was pregnant around 7 weeks. and i stopped pretty much cold turkey....it was tough, im just now coming back from it all.  Im 12 weeks and 4 days now.  I have to be honest, its HArD to go about day to day activities with out feeling horrible about myself, or the situation im in.  I sure dont feel like im "glowing." Not sure why im telling you all this, maybe because its easy to tell someone you dont know with potential similarities.  I have taken a quarter bar which is .5mg maybe 3 times since ive quit....i feel sooo guilty and im so nervous. I just wish i could find a post that would justify me taking it while pregnant...Though i know i cant!! This is my first child, and i want nothing more for it to be healthy.  i just feel so down, ive been in an AMAZING relationship for 2 nearly 3 years now, and i feel so insecure all of a sudden, having thoughts of him cheating on me or thinking of another woman!!  i know these things are all in my head but the feelings that come with the thoughts are nearly un bearable. I am not a phsyco girlfriend, but its like i need to keep fighting in order not to turn into one. Ok.  that was alot...ha!  Sorry...needed somewhere to vent, and honestly....i feel a little better.

elham - Im due believe it or not on my birthday!  well one day after, Dec. 1st.  Say goodbye to birthdays for me, eh?

We are super close.  Im sure you can tell the sex now cant you?  If you ever need to vent, im all ears, it really helps me, never knew until now.  im good at ignoring my problems, but with such a beautiful blessing right in our own bellys, we'd better figure out how to feel good.... wholy cow! 3girls 3boys!  how wonderful & exciting to figure out the winner!!??!

lpweitt - tha is a true fact about the withdrawling, but man the guilt i felt taking it because of what i was told, made it, in my opinion, even more dangerous. Your sister has a happy healthy baby now?

My sister started having bad anxiety attacks while pregnant with her 2nd child..her doctor actually prescribed xanax to her throughout her entire pregnancy.....but alot of times when a person is dependant on a narcotic or some type of pills...the risks are higher if you stop taking them because of the withdrawal process

I have been breaking out alot sadly:( im sure it will pass after I have the baby.. So when are u due?? My due date is oct.26, seems so far away!! I find out the sex of the baby may 29 so im excited for that!! I have 3 girls and 3 boys so this one will be the tie breaker,lol:)

thanks for the reassurance.  it really helps, i have been super uber down.  Did you happen to break out during pregnancy?  ive got zits, had to cut my hair off for a job, gaining weight, no more xanax....so many huge changes. I just do not feel like my self ill tell ya that much!
Im SUper excited to have a baby though....I always thought i couldnt concive because of severe endometreosis.

Youre not alone in your feelings. I was on xanax too for anxiety and immediately stopped taking them upon finding out im pregnant again. This is my #7 and have been married for 13yearz to a great man. I feel bad but I too have those thoughts that he is cheating or not attracted to me. Idk why though cause he has never given me any reason to think those things. I think its probably coming off the meds and having all those pregnant hormones. It'll get better im sure:)
