You can eat and drink but they tell you not to because it effects the clarity of the ultrasound. They normally schedual you in the morning so you don't have to starve yourself, haha. The most imporant thing is that you go in with a full bladder, other than that just relaxe and enjoy seeing your baby for the first time :)

Your OK to eat you just need to take your urine sample with you.... that's how it works here in UK. ...

You need to eat if your hungery. Any trained tech will not tell you to not eat while pregnant its bad for the baby. You don't have to go on a full bladder but I do advise it unless you want a camera stuck up your vagina. Really uncomfortable! Best drink I say is OJ the sugar makes the baby more awake and the vitamins c is good not just for your immune system but the baby also

You need a full bladder but don't drink too the point you can't walk without peeing coke or orange juice gets the baby going and I think only two or three ppl can come in depending on your doctor and they have to be at least 15

OMG please don't go 12 hours without esting. Not necessary.  For mine the tech made me pee because she couldn't see him as well, but I was 17 weeks.. With you being so early a full bladder will probably get you a better view since baby is so small

Don't fill your bladder. My doctor always make me empty my bladder before. Besides most dr office collect a urine sample at the beginning of every appointment.  I really didn't have rules.  I always drunk a soda before because baby is very active :)

I never had to fill my bladder for any of my ultrasounds. In fact they always asked if I needed to use the restroom before we got started so I wouldn't be uncomfortable.

Incomplete^^^ I emptied my bladder and started drinking at 12. Stopped at 12:30 and held my bladder until the ultrasound.

Don't eat for 12 hours? Definitely not! You can eat normally. I just had my first one last week. Let's say you have the appointment at 1:30. They told me to empty my bladder and start drinking 32 Oz of water and stop at 12:30.

Good luck!

Drink something sugary like fruit punch if you want to see baby move ;) not exactly sure if that's what causes it but it can't hurt! Lol

I think it is ok to eat!!
It doesn't effect the ultrasounds, and it is not good to starve u'r self whil pregnant!
Just drink 6-8 glasses of water to make u'r bladder full & be on time..
