5 week pregnancy but nothing found on ultrasound, is it normal?

My last period was 23rd Feb 2021 and I found positive from my 5 hpt on last weekend (I supposed to be 5-week pregnant today). However, I went to see my Dr and nothing shows on normal ultrasound (not vaginal ultrasound). Is this normal? I am supper anxious because I experience miscarriage when I was 7th week pregnant in last September. So for those who experienced this please share it with me that you end up having a healthy baby and actually my baby is there but just hiding. Now I have light nausea (vary along the day), mild cramping, weight gained and  sleepy.

Could just be that you're not quite 5 weeks along. Counting from the first day of your last period is not the most accurate way to know when you ovulated this time; if you ovulated a little late, you could still have an embryo too early to see.

Have you been scheduled for a follow-up ultrasound, or is your doctor continuing to do blood tests? If your hCG continues to rise as expected, which would be determined by a blood test, then that's a very good sign.

Sometimes it is too early.  You may have your timing off just a tiny bit.  When do you go back to the doctor?  Does a home pregnancy test register positive? Let us know what is happening. hugs
