7 weeks and no sack or a baby, please help

Hi,
I missed my cycle and took 2 home tests and it was positive, I made an appointment with my OB and turned that I was about 7 weeks and 3 days according to the last cycle I had.
I did an ultrasound on the same day and the doctor didn't see a baby or a sack. can someone help me answer my question? knowing that they did a hormon level test and saw that it was normal.
Please let me know if you have any idea I'm very concerned and I have another appointment next week but very nervous about it.

I went the doc and they did a u/s because I had a mis a year ago. They seen a sac but nothing else same thing the next week so we schedule a d n c . But i wanted another one right b4 the d n c well they seen a a yolk sac so we canceled the d n c the next week seen nothing wanted to do a d n c I toldthem no I will wait it out for it to pass natural.. they did another u/s 4 days later to find a fetal pole. so nowthe doc says I mite not be as far along as we think. going again this fri. I dnt think anyone should get a d n c until you are bleeding badly and you know for sure you are having a mis. doc are too busy and write thigns off too quickly. twice my doc wrote me off to a mis and I mite still have a mis but at this point there is something there so I am glad I listened to my body!!!!

Hi!
It is possible that you have a blighted ovum or anembryonic gestation.  This is a type of pregnancy in which no baby develops, only the sac/membranes. The other possibility is that you are quite a bit earlier than you thought you were.
The way to find out, is either, to have quantitative HCG levels (pregnancy hormone levels) done.  If they are rising appropriately then you are fine.  A progesterone level can also be helpful.  If it is over 15, that is a good sign.
Or, to have a follow up ultrasound in a week. Once the sac reaches a certain size, you should see a yolk sac, a fetal pole and a heart beat. If you don't, you can determine that it is not a normal pregnancy.

hi im suppose to be ten weeks i went to er last nite becuz i saw some blood they give an ultrasound bt the only I was the sag nothing else. They didnt tell me but go see my obgyn soon as possible. Ima starting to feel  like i cant have kids

I have had several m/c's myself, the first of which at 7 wks was a sac with no baby. They call that a Blighted Ovum. I had to have a D&C witht that because my body was not figuring out that I didn't have a baby in there. I was technically 11 wks at the time of my D&C, but no baby had ever developed. My second pg, there was a baby with a heartbeat at 7wks, but then at 9wks, the heart had stopped. I had a natural m/c about 3 weeks later. I then got pregnant for the third time and found out through blood tests that I had a Protein S deficiency (blood clotting disorder). I  had to take baby asprin and the doctor also prescribed progesterone. I carried her to 38 wks when we had to induce due to stress on the baby. She is a happy and healthy 6 year old now and I am again pregnant now and hoping to keep this one sticky!!! I am taking the asprin and progesterone again and am currently 4wks 3dys and awaiting an ultrasound in a couple weeks!!! Good luck to you all!!!

thats the same that happined to me they call it a phantom pregnancy they had to do a dnc on me because my cervix wouldnt open

I was told i am 10 weeks pregnant but they did an ultrasound and there is a sac, however no baby? I do not understand what this means exactly, and what will happen? Do I have to have surgury, does this mean I am having a miscarriage? I have 3 children 15, 6, and a 1 year old. Never heard of this, however I have had miscarriages in the past, and was told I could not and should not have children.

I am very confused about this, if anyone can help!!! I appreciate it soooo much,

i had the same thing happin in my last pregnancy i went to 5 mos there was no baby just an empty sack i was really confused that was the 3rd miscarriage i had now i am finally pregnant with a healthy baby just give it time and when the moment is right for u it will happin i am so sorry i know how bad it hurts i went through that also

hi , im 20 years old and ihave fairly normal periods i had unprotected sex on may 24 my last period was may 14. i missed my period in june with only light spoting on  june 27th that lasted maybe 2 hours. i have now missed a second period but i took two pregnancy tests around june 20 and they were both neg. i have consistant headaches , heartburn and just feel all around different could i still be pregnant.

I'M VERY NEW IN THIS SITE I JUST registered  i would love to get ur help in i had my normal period in 18 or 19 of april then i missed in whole may  so i thoght iam pregnant but in june second 2009 i had bleeding just like period heavey .the colour ,odour exactly like period it lats in 7 days again in 29 june i had the second bleeding lasted also in 7 days even prior to missing my perioud and uptoday i had abdominal pain very and bad nausea that  is kills me and nerveousness iam confused i had tmy urine test and it was negative yet i feel my womb get down to the suprapubic region its weired my ob gyn gave me no good answer yet she took cervical sawbs for lab which i think its for cancer i tried to explain as much as possible i wish to get ur good answer and it will relieve me somehow

Make sure your calculations are correct as for how far you think you are. I thought I was 7 weeks but it turned out I'm only 5. have your doctor do a an HCG for you. it would help alot if you told your doctor about your concerns.

Thank you so much for your response.
I saw a sack finally yesterday but it was too small. and my doctor told me that I was about 5 weeks rather than 7 weeks (like you said). But still the doctor told me that we can't call it normal till we see the heartbeat and the heart. So, she scheduled an appointment next week for another u/s and told me that it was a matter of time to wait and see.
Is that right? If don't see or hear a heartbeat then it's still called not normal?

It could be an abnormal pregnancy and the embryo's not developing.  Did the doctors office do a blood test?
