9 Weeks & No Heartbeat

Hi
My wife was detected with TB (Tuberculosis) of the uterine in Feb 12 during a laproscopy (to remove her fibroids) and hysteroscopy and has been on TB medication for almost 6 monhts now, which get over in August. However she conceived during May 2012 earlier this year. Last week she completed 9 weeks +, however in her first scan it was revealed that there is no cardiac movement in the sac, and the sac is a little irregular in shape, though the size is as 9 weeks +, they even gave us a Expected date of Delviery, However not detected a heartbeat and suggested this is a missed abortion. This is the second time and earlier the same happened in 2009 during a 5.5 weeks m/C. Now the doc advised a D&C, We are not sure what to do and what is right. She has no symptons of bleeding etc, a little cramping maybe cause she has anxiety. Will D&C harm her chances of future conception or damage any reproductive organs etc. Cause we really want her to get pregnant on her own. Please advise.

Hi Laura:
Appreciate your comments and thanks. Yes we got the D&C done yesterday and she seems to be ok/recovering. Just crossing our fingers that no infection has been left behind or damamge to the lining and very soon (maybe 2-4 months) she is able to carry on her own (we dont want to get into ivf etc) We really are looking forward to having twins (though she or me has no history in the family) but maybe we are blessed and finish our family once. Thank you once again.

No heartbeat was detected at my 12week scan in october 2011 baby measured 9+ weeks. I had no signs of miscarriage but had a d&c a few days later it was all over really quick amd didnt have any bleedin etc afterwards. If ur wife waits she will have a natural miscarriage eventually which will be more distressing with the pain, bleeding etc. I fell pregnant in january again just two months later and am now 30weeks pregnant. D&c can make it easier to concieve because ur womb is all cleaned out. It doesnt damage ur chances at all.
