After delivery question??

Hi Ladies,

I was just wondering,  How long does the after delivery bleeding last for??  Sarah is 23 days old.  for the first two weeks it was normal, then it stopped for a few day's, came back for a day, it will be gone for a day then back for two or 3 days.
Is this normal???
Its not old blood because of the color (bright red)

Thanks

Kazwel

I bled for about a week and a half heavy then had the lochia discharge until 3 weeks. Breast fed her fr one month and got my period 2 weeks ago (when ava was 8 weeks old) but think everyone is different

It is different with each pregnancy.  with my first i bleed for a week and a week later got my period and was completely regular after - while nursing only.  with my 2nd i bleed for 4 weeks and didn't get my af until she was 6 mos - when i stopped nursing.

Im also in the same boat. Conner is 2 weeks old now and im still bleeding, which is not normal for me. With my 1st I bled for 3 weeks, With Michael I bled for a week got my AF a week after, with Aiden I bled for 4 days and got my AF 2 weeks later, and here I am still bleeding with Conner. It is also still bright red, with some clots.

I bled right up to around my 6 wk mark with all of my kids.  Sometimes it was spotting somtimes it was a heavy flow.

I bleed the full six weeks after having a baby.  Heck, when I went to my 6 week appt. this last time, I was still slightly bleeding, so it can last for a while.

Sometimes, since everyone is different it can last up to 6 weeks.  I had bleed for like 3 or 4 days with each kid, but every day had to wear a panty liner because I would have like redish brownish goo.  Not a lot just a little a day, up to 6 weeks.

If it's a ton of blood i'd call the doctor and make sure nothing is wrong.  If you are by chance anemic this could be a good reason for it.
