Animals?

A little long, but....

I've had my little min pin for almost 4 years now. Throughout my pregnancy, she hasn't really acted any differently towards me. I mean, she's a snuggle queen, but nothing out of the usual.

But tonight she seems to be extra clingy. She keeps wanting to lay in between my legs, by my lady parts. She follows me EVERYWHERE! I can't pee without her staring at me. She's stopped listening to my commands. And she won't let my husband touch my belly. She actually growls at him and does everything in her power (besides biting) to make him not touch me.

Has anyone else's animals gotten really weird towards the end of their pregnancy? And did it change at all after baby came?

And I've caught her multiple times now in the laundry basket, licking the crotch to my dirty underwear.

I myself don't have any pets but any time I'm around my dads dog and my best friends cat they both act odd. My dads dog will lay with a paw over my lap and her head on my belly and stays right beside me constantly when i visit. She's always liked me but that behavior is odd for her. She's a pit bull. My friends cat every time I go to her house will jump on my lap and just stare at me or lick me and follows me around meowing which is way odd for him. I'd say your dog knows your pregnant and is being protective over you and baby. I think its normal

Ur dog probally noes the baby is coming soon and for her to be protective like that is kind of a good things shows shell be protective of that baby....my cats were alot more loving and followed me to every room when i got closer to the end of my other rwo...but make sure before u bring the baby home have ur hubby bring home a blanket or something that the baby was wearing or using so she can get use to the scent and makes introduction alot better

Oh good to know about the blanket. I didn't know how I was going to introduce them. She's a little on the hyper side when it comes to new people so I have that to think about.

So its basically normal as long as she's not biting or being really bad? That's good.

Yes very normal as ling as shes not being aggressive its fine....but since she is hyper i would suggest t i have him hold the dog while u hold the baby when they first meet to avoid scratching but i dont think u have to much to worry about...just dont be shocked if she starts becoming protective around other people when the baby is there...dogs and cats alike know that what there owners care about is what they should protect....but yes i recomend the blanket thing to people with both dogs and cats so that way the smell isnt a shock to them...but most animals usually adjust very quickly...u might have to just set a boundry for the dog so she noes what she can and cant do around the baby
