I'm not as concerned about the shower cause I can at least rinse my face in the sink and put on some deodorant haha. But I just hate sitting around in those hospital gowns without a bra and underwear on. Especially if I have visitors I don't want to move wrong and have my butt hang out! I would feel much more comfortable in my own comfy loose clothes.
I never got to shower :( I'm all for showering everyday if I go one day without it I'll feel so gross. So when I had my baby before I was so paranoid about not showering but I'm telling you when you have your baby that will be the.only thing you will think about.. you'll forget all about showering or what you look like trust me :-)
Okay thank you both so much! Definitely lots to think about and prepare for!
Wow I didn't know that about epidurals! I had my son naturally and they let me shower after we had skin to skin contact for an hour. So about an hour after delivery. And I put on my own clothes after that not the gown. And straight away I was able to dress the baby in his own clothes. Because usually the room you deliver in is not the room you stay in. So you get cleaned up and go in a wheel chair to another room another bed. And then they bring yoi food usually. Haha because you are ao hungry after labour! I don't know what it's like for epidurals or c sections.
It depend on the policies of the hospital your going to. If you have an epidural or c section your not going to be able to shower for at least several hours you won't be able to feel your legs. You will also be bleeding likev a lot so you may not want to put on your own cloths for at least 24 hours because may very well leak everywhere. You will also have nurses checking how much your bleeding and how much your uterus has shrunk regularly. You probably won't want to or be able to shower and put on your own cloths for 12-25 hours. If you do put your own pants on make sure they are very very loose in the crotch.
