BABY FORMULA 2

I am going into overdrive as my due date is approaching.  I dont know about you guys but it seems like after taking forever, now that forever is here, there is so much i want and need to do.  My mother told me that when I was born, my father purchased bottles of ready to feed food, which did not require any mixing, refrigeration, or heating.  and the best feature was that they were disposable.  she said that they were a lifesaver as i am the 3rd of 4 children.

I have researched these bottles and enfamil and similac make these in 2oz and 8oz bottle.  My mother suggested the 2oz  bottles while the baby only eats a little until later, then to purchase the 8oz bottles.  Has anyone else used these bottles on the go or during those busy times.  My mother is gung-ho on these.  She says it is great so that i will not have to get up in the middle of the night and great for when i am not able to make bottles, traveling, out and about, etc.

Let me know what you think.

Also, I dont know if i should purchase some before the baby is born or wait to see which formula the hospital gives him.  Grrr.  And thats just one of the many things on my mind.     lol.

:-)  Good luck Everyone.

my hospital had enfamil or similac available.  those little bottles are great on the go and great for when they are young and only eat 2-3 ounces at a time.  the only downfall is that the formula in them is a darker color and can stain easily.  but they were very great for on the go.

i would suggets having some of them on hand.  I would not reccomend buying 8ounce ones because doctors are really trying to have babies bottles limited to 4-6 ounces per feeding and no more.

My hospital here gave me Similac ready to feed bottles when I was in the hospital. They normally have Similac or Enfamil and you can just let them know which you prefer.

the hospital ended up giving us formula to supplement my poor milk supply and they gave us GoodStart, which i think is what most hospitals give (not sure though...call and ask!!). They, too, make the ready-to-feed bottles and all you have to do is attach a nipple and feed away...they were AWESOME and my daughter did GoodStart Natural Cultures for the first year of her life and she's VERY healthy...I loved it. it's not too expensive, but it's very quality formula IMO. we had friends who switched their baby off of GoodStart to similac because the GoodStart didn't seem as "good" and their baby went through a lot of digestive problems for several months before they switched back...we actually did try similac for a month and it didn't work out for us, plus it was too expensive. I was on enfamil as a baby so I know it's a good one...but the only experience I can talk about is with GoodStart and I loved it.

but either way if you're determined to use enfamil and similac I CAN tell you that the ready-to-feed bottles are AWESOME.
