Hi
I wud like to discuss some doubts regarding menses after C-section Delivery.
Actually upto 42 days bleeding may occur any time. but after that after how many days menses should start regularly.
Bcoz after 3 months of delivery, only 2 - 3 times bleeding occured, but not as regular. Delivery date 8th Feb. bleeding date 6th Apr, 8th APR, 11th APR, after that no bleeding. please tell me what should be normal schedule after Delivery. Previous date was 16th May 2009.
Thank u for your comments
Actually for last few days, there is some feeling of pain in lower part stiches( even after 3 months of delivery) , so we dont want to take risk, thats why decided to discuss with all of you. If any one can advise the reason for pain/ healing procedure/precaution, you are most welcome.
I don't know about in India, but here, atleast my doctor, never said anything about not lifting or anything after 8 weeks. 6 weeks was the limit for having sex, 8 weeks was the limit for not lifting anything heavier than my baby.
Lifting puts a much different kind of stress on your muscle and ligaments than sex does.
Thanks to all for their suggestions.
You all gave us some relief from a great tension, but thing I woulsd like to discuss that as you mentioned that even after C-section delivery you can do safe sex after 42 days as in the case of Normal delivery, then why doctor reccommends not to lift weight & to do some heavy work upto six months. I think it may cause rupture of stiched part of hte uterus. Then during sex same streeses are imposed on the body, so it may cause serious incident, so its my assumption that in case of c-section sex should also avoided for the same period that is for 6 months
please give your opinion
Thanks & Regards
Most doctors will recommend you wait 18-mos to 2 years before conceiving again after a cesarean. This gives your body plenty of time to heal and will reduce the risk of uterine rupture.
The use of condoms along with natural family planning methods is a reliable way to prevent pregnancy. When done properly the effectiveness rate should be about the same as using hormonal birth control.
Many, many babies get the cord wrapped around their necks, legs, arms, etc. It's becuase of their movements in utero. It is very common but doesn't normally cause any major complications. There isn't anything that can be done by you or a doctor to prevent this from happening.
Hi my 2 and c-section to natural birth are 2 years and 27days. The cord being wrapped around bub (my 1st had the same) I was told just comes from their movements in the uterus, it happened to my 1st when he turned breech. They also told me that they never can tell how long the cord is which is why they don't take the risk. That's my experience. Wish you all the best next time
Thanks for your valueable suggestions
It means use of Codom is most effective method of Birth control, without using pills, or it has also some risk, otherwise we can avoid sex.
Breastfeeding is still continue & it will atleast upto 1 year. Can we plan conception after 1 and half year or this gap is less to make sure 2nd Delivery vaginal. plz tell me the minimum gap between 2 deliveries that can reduce the chance of 2nd C-section delivery.
Basically we want to put all the efforts those are in our hand for second delivery to be normal, although rest is under GOD's control. So, please write in details, minimum gap between 2 deliveries or between 1st delivery & 2nd conception, and other precautions to be taken to avoid cesaeran delivery upto some extent.
Please also let me know what are the cause of wrapping cord around neck of the baby???
Are you referring to the time frame to avoid sex AFTER a VAGINAL Birth?? If so, doctors recommend waiting the standard 6 weeks to allow your body time to heal and readjust and to avoid infection. Some women only wait until they stop bleeding which can be anywhere from 2-8 weeks postpartum. It really comes down to when YOU feel ready tho. You will know when your body is up to the task.
As for birth control, do you plan to breastfeed? While that in itself is not fool proof it's a good start. Since you are not wanting to use any type of hormonal birth control you could check into natural family planning. It's a method where you chart your basal body temperature alone with watching your cervical mucus, possibly your cervical position and other signs like bloating, gas, headaches, breast tenderness etc. It allows you to become familiar with your cycle and when you ovulate so you know the days to avoid having intercourse or when to use a condom.
If you meant after 6 section, it's pretty much the same principals
For How much time should we avoid sex and allow the heeling of internal stature. Any method to avoid pregnancy, please advise, as we r not interested in pills, because of huge use of medicines during pregnancy & C-section delivery and thereafter.
It is very possible to have a vaginal birth after a c-section depending on the type of incision made when they did yours. If the incision on your uterus (not the one on the skin) was a low transverse, meaning it goes across from hip to hip just above the pubic bone, then you have a very good chance of having a normal vaginal delivery with the 2nd. My first child was an emergency c-section and I have since had 4 successful VBAC's (vaginal birth after cesarean) I have no idea how the doctors do things in India, but here in the US some doctors will allow it and some will insist on a repeat c-section. You should discuss it with your doctor and express your wishes for having a vaginal delivery.
Hi my first bub was a c-section due to breech presentation. I then had my second child as vbac with nocomplications. So yes it is possible. I just had to find an on who would support me through the decision and as long as no risk to you and bub good luck. I would go natural again over csection
