Baby's here but I'm so stressed!!!!!

Question

My DD was born in the 25th 7lbs6oz Her original due date was the 27th. She looked great and was 100% healthy and I had a normal pregnancy no complications. They took her blood after she was born and it came back that she there was a bacteria in her blood so we now have to stay for an addition 48 and she has to receive IV antibiotics. So now I'm going to be away from my other daughter for two more days she will be 3 on the 30th and has never spent. A night away from me until now I have someone who it watching her I still just am missing her and know that she isn't having a good time. They gave me the choice of staying the next two days here with Elizabeth or going home and them admitting her into the nicu but I'm breastfeeding and do not want her to have any bottles at all. I just feel like I'm having to choose between my two babies and it's the worst feeling ever and I just feel like I should choose between one or the other and it's stressing me out so bad.

Oh ok dang I know it ***** my daughter has been gone and I'm going crazy I miss her really bad so I feel you hope you all can be together again soon try not to stress hun it'll be fine soon

Yes I'm already discharged the only reason we still have a room is because I'm breastfeeding

So is the baby in the room with you why can't she come see you if baby isn't in the room with you if baby is then I understand

Epidurals can cause bacterial infections in newborn babies.

They drew my blood and I don't have any infections it's just something that happens sometimes.... She can't visit because with baby hooked up to IV and not feeling well they do not want her to have visitors. She got to come visit before they found the infection

How would she know if she had it and why wouldn't she tell the doctors lol plus wouldn't the doctors know before her they the ones that do the testing

U must have had a bacteria infection before and never told the doctors...u would have gotten antibiotics to protect the baby...but everyone forgets something. ..wish u the best

Yeah I agree stay with the baby until she gets better hopefully she will go home before your other daughter b day but if not make it up to her with her favorite things she likes,character,and gifts kids forget anything when you have ice cream and cake and a toy

You should stay with baby I rather my daughter be with a trusted love one at home then my baby be in a hospital and who knows what can happen if your not there and why can't she visit I'm having my daughter visit me when I go in

I would suggest staying in the hospital with your daughter. God forbid something were to happen and you were not there. Your other child will be ok and you can always have her visit you. Children in toddler age do not really realize it's their birthday unless you tell them over and over again
