Should I head to the ER?

For the past few days I've been having severe pressure in my cervix area, and terrible lower back pain. I've tried to lay down to see if that helps but it doesn't, baby is still moving all over the place, and I'm not bleeding I just don't know if I should wait until my next Dr's appt which is July 6th (he will be doing a cervical exam at that time to see if I'm dilated or if my cervix has thinned out) or if I should just go to the ER. Has anyone had this same experience? I'm really scared that it might be pre-term labor since I will be 27 weeks tomorrow, but I have no previous history of having pre-term ladies. Please just give me some insight on this situation ladies, especially those of you that have had the same/similar situation, thank you all so much!

I was actually in the hospital two days ago with this exact problem. I'm getting tons of pain and pressure in my back, pelvis and legs. They didn't do much of anything. Nor could tell me anything. Just to move often, use heat and to call if I notice blood or my water breaking. They did say it was good I came in just to make sure I wasn't dialating, so it wouldn't hurt to get checked out. I doubt they can do much to help the pain, but it would give you peace of mind to know nothing is wrong.

It really depends. I'm 29 weeks and constantly get the pressure and lower back pain.  My little girl is head down and pressing into my cervix hence the pain.  If you are not comfortable and feel something is wrong it's always best to go to L & D or call your doctors after hours number.

If your lower back is to the point where you can't get comfortable it kind of feels dull and is always there!!!!  I think you should go, I'm not sure if they will do anything but it is better safe than sorry.  It could be a sign of early labour!!!!  I have had two previous pregnancies with full on contactions in the front.  I had a baby I miscarried at 14 weeks (not that this is your case) but I had back pain and no cramps or contractions.  As soon as my baby came out the back pain immediately went.  I now know I was in prelabour with my son because it lasted about 2 days prior.  I am not saying you are going to lose your baby in any way or form but if it is a dull back pain that is uncomfortable it could be preterm labour.
