It has to be at least 130 Before it's considered high. Right now your numbers are perfect no need to worry. My bp was 168/100 with my last pregnancy and I didn't have preeclampsia so even if it gets just a little high there still is no need to stress about it
Paige, your BPs ARE normal. Are you on BP meds?
I agree with specialmom. This is my second pregnancy with preeclamplsia and my dr wouldn't even think twice about those readings, they are pretty good. With my first the day I delivered mine was 170/140 and this time has been a lot milder with bp around 160/90. Remember the electric machines are not as accurate as the manual ones, and if you are worried like above said go and rest put your feet up stay hydrated and take it again in a couple of hours when you've stopped thinking about it and if its 140/90 then give your dr a call. Good luck!
Actually that is not true. I was considered hypertensive by the time I was 140/100. I had legit pregnancy hypertension and it was that high during birth so that after, I had a blood pressure cuff that took my pressure every 2 hours for 24 hours. (THAT was a pain as it wakes you up as it squeezes your arm). Just talk to your doctor Paige next visit or even call in before if you are worried. good luck
Your numbers are borderline hypertensive. You are not super high at this point. And just because you are worried about it, you are probably making it rise a little bit when you check. Try to relax. Rest and put your feet up. If you see spots, give your doctor a call. But my blood pressure was significantly higher than yours before that happened to me and I did not have preeclampsia. Just keep your eye on it. good luck
i think your blood pressure has to hit 170/90 to be considered high
Blood pressure is one of those things where there are definite high numbers and you know when you hit them and it is classified that way but ALSO, it can depend on you personally and where you started. your top number is creeping up there but your bottom number isn't bad . . . but it depends where you started at. My blood pressure when I had pregnancy hypertension in one of my pregnancies was well over 140/100 and the number they watched the most was the bottom number. I only had two bouts of seeing spots and did bloat but overall, I never got preeclampsia (thank goodness).
They monitored me as I am sure they will you. Ask these questions too of your doctor at your next visit and if you start feeling dizzy or see floating spots, call right away. good luck
Thats normal. Blood pressure is typically 120/80. So no concern at all :)
