Do u live in the USA? If so you can get a pump for free under the new health act. Just call your insurance carrier.
Oh brand wise I love and use medella.
Loved my Ameda breast pump! Whatever one you decide to go with make sure it comes with a good warranty because even the best brands can break.
New how can you get a free one.
Under the new Obama plan last month insurance companies had to start covering pumps. All you need to do is call your insurance company and say you would like to know were to go for the covered pumps.
Not all insurance companies do. I called mine and they will only cover it if it is a medical necessity and is prescribed by the babies doctor. And the doctor has to prescribe an electric one or they go to a hand one by default.
I liked the ameda one i used with my first. Got to try another one this time around though
I am curious to know too... I will being going back to work after 8 weeks and most likely won't continue pumping. So, I don't want to spend $300 on a medula? Breast pump. But I heard those were the best. My insurance said they pay 80% still too expensive to use for only 2 months
I know my insurance covers an electric pump at no cost to me for 36 months! I have aetna, I am pretty sure if your insurance company needs a prescription for it your babies doctor isn't going to deny writting one since they advocate breast feeding.
Yea I would think the babies doctor will write it. Yea some plans don't have to go to 100% coverage until plan renewal.
Wish I had known this sooner but if you have wic they will give you a free brand new pump. Its a medulla and they are amazing
