Bright red blood

I had my third membrane sweep today (I'm 40 weeks today) and I came home and felt like I had to pee and when I did about a tablespoon of bright red blood came out. It wasn't clots or anything.. It was like when you're on your period. All my other sweeps I just spotted or it was brown in colour with mucous. Is that normal?

Could it be your bloody show? Call your doctor  to make sure you are not starting labor.
