im right there with mommabear... SIDS scares the crap outta me! and i never used my bumpers that came with the crib set... i did put them in to take pictures when i finished the baby room but took them out before using them(i do think the crib looks cuter with them).... i also didnt use that padded piece that you put the baby in to keep baby from moving... sorry cant think of what its called but i pretty much havent put anything in the crib that wasnt necessary... and only once did i find my daughters arm sticking outta the crib rail... i think she was around 5 months old at that time... not a big deal, just moved her back into the middle

With my first son I had a bumper, I used it.for.maybe two days(?) And it just kept stressing.me.out. He was a major.wriggle worm too. Well I took it.out and a day or so later I woke up.and he had.wriggled himself into the corner and had his face mashed against the bars (looked very uncomfortable) but.my thought.is, I'd much rather have.my child's leg or arm broke then to.find them suffocated.

I won't be using them. I'm way more afraid of SIDs than I am of her getting her arms and legs stuck. I've heard negative things about the breathable bumpers too, so I'm just going bumper-free.

Honestly by the time they can get their arms & legs thru the bars of the cribs the bumpers don't do any good anyway. My children literally sat on top of the bumper & got their legs stuck lol. So for these babies, no, I won't allow the use of bumper pads.

After all the negativity I won't be using mine, didn't find out the dangers of it til I seen my nutritionist a month ago...my youngest kid is almost 11! We already had them purchased and already returned them! They make the crib bars much more closer now so it'll be next to impossible for him to get his head stuck in there!

i have a regular bumper and used obe with my older son.... ive seen advertisements for these new mesh bumper where it still helps keep babies arms n legs from between bars but its thin mesh fabric so theres way less chance of suffication

I dont plan on using one, I cant afford  one anyway but a friend of mine used one and her month old daughter suffacated on it.

I know its a very small chance that anything could happen but theres still that chance and I dont want to risk it.
