My first son couldn't latch on and trust me everyone in the hospital tried to help and then we found out he was tongue tied. With my second son I fed him for at least a week and then my milk production dropped really low and I had to start giving him formula. Then he didn't like the taste of breast milk. Now that I'm pregnant with my third I will try everything in me to breast feed as long as I can. If this one has problems latching on then I will pump and feed with a bottle. In my opinion breast milk is the best. And even though it hurts so bad some times it is the best for your baby. Even if only for the first couple weeks.

No where did I say everyone felt the same way. However it is illegal in my state at least to discriminate against a mother feeding in public. Covering up is a personal choice not a nessesity.

I'm gonna breastfeed again. This is my second. The first couple of weeks suck because they'll hurt but getting used to it will be tough but worth it. I would say try it only if you want to!

I said what I did out of experience. I did not hide my child out of shame. I was a proud breastfeedkng mother. However restaurant owners have askd us to leabe before because someobe saw the top of my breast. So for the sake of family and ability to feed my daughter as I chose I covered up. You really need to think more about every possible situation before saying people breastfeed in shame. You do not know what we went through while breastfeeding. And yes they can ask you to leave if it is disturbing the customers. They also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone they choose. Geez. Telling women not to "be ashamed" I stead of being respectful and thinking " wow they were being courteous to their child amd other people".

If baby is latching correctly, it shouldn't hurt. It's only uncomfortable for a few days until you are used to it. Talk to a lactation consultant.

Who says the baby would be eating on hiding?  The reason so many people aren't comfortable seeing breastfeeding is because THEY DON'T SEE IT. Its very important for pur culture that those who are brave enough take a stand and show what nature intended.  If you choose to formula feed thats a personal choice but those who are breastfeeding should be proud and help make it the norm to see a women breastfeeding on a bench or anywhere.

I won't be. I believe breatmilk is best but I know from my first baby that due to my situation breastfeeding is not best for me and my family. I am comfortable with my choice and from my experience have found many of the negatives of formula feeding to be simply not true in my case. You have to do what works for you and baby. All anyone wants is a healthy baby and a happy mum. Best of luck!

If you do not want to momma thats fine. Women have supplemented for years and humanity has survived :) its a matter of choice and in todays society boobs have become sex toys, they are not seen as the simple food-supplier they really are, plus it can be inconvenient to pump and why should a baby be forced to eat in hiding? Thats like us going to a restaurant and then putting a blanket over our heads so no one could see. If its not for you, thats ok. Dont be pressured into anything bc you will just resent it more.

It is a commitment. The first two weeks suck.
I really wanted to breast feed and could not for the life of me get her to latch for hours. I am now pumping and feeding her that way which is an even more pain in the butt. I do it for het though. Just know that it takes a lot, i think about converting to formula every day at least once.

It didn't hurt me with my first so I'm def going to do it again with this one. my only problem was after 3 weeks of doing it my milk supply dropped. So I'm just praying this one is successful.

It hurts everyone at first, but after while it's sexond nature. Breastfeeding is definitely best, and is the most healthy thing you can do. I personally plan on it, especially because you can't trust the ingredients they make formula with. There's recalls on it all the time for who knows why. Not to mention, breastfeeding doesn't cost a thing!
