Castor oil

Has any mommies who already have children ever tried the castor oil method to induce labor.  If so how was your experience?

I'm a first time mommy :) but I know someone who did try it and she said it helps, that's a old school remedy. Maybe you can look online for a discussion group or something. I heard you mix the castor oil with some orange juice.

Im pregnant with my fourth. . I've tried it with my first and NEVER AGAIN!  All it did for me was give me the horrible painful runs for three days straight and not one contraction. What I've tried that does work is walking, sex if you can stand it and accupressure. Good luck!

Tuesday nyt at 12 i started having contractions they are not un bearable at 5'o clock we go to hospital bt i m not dilated at all cervix was close on that time docter told me to come next morning if nothing happen on its on and gave me castor oil to drink in evening i drink that 2 pm then my contraction gets strong at 7 pm i went to hospital bcoz those contractions are soo strong and painfull they checked me and i was 5 cm dilated after 2 hours i was ready to push with four pushes my son came out

Don't try this I know many women who have tried this and it just ends up giving them the runs!!! Sex works and walking. The might I went into labor with my second child it was only an hour after I had sex that I went into labor! My doctor told me that that's what most likely started my contractions.
