Cervix Question...

Okay, So I have checked myself a few times as far as my cervix goes. And I noticed some changes today. Usually if I squat I can feel my cervix and the hole from the dilation, but today when I checked my cervix was really high and felt really small. I have the okay from my doc to check myself since I have a habit of having really really fast labors, and I dilate really quickly with hardly any contractions.

I was wondering if your cervix is supposed to feel short before labor? I know the position changed and I can't feel dilation because it has changed to the labor position which is posterior and towards the rectum. Usually when I felt my cervix it was a large ball with the hole and dilation, this time it's a very small ball like a marble and I can't feel the cervical opening.

Does anyone know what this means?

I might have misunderstood the doc in thinking posterior was the labor position. Im not sure why my cervix would go from labor position, to posterior. I am 8 days away from my due date tomorrow.

I have a docs appointment tomorrow so I will ask then. I was just curious if anyone else who checks their cervix has noticed such a dramatic change in a short period of time. Yesturday my cervix was low, and I could feel the cervical opening.

Im just confused, especially since I have been having more contractions and back pain.

My doctor said my cervix is posterior as well (6 days overdue) and that being posterior is not the labor position. Usually it goes from this position to anterior ... so I'm not sure why yours would have changed from anterior to posterior.
