Someone else's question made me realize I had my own question. Has anyone here taken Clomid and acheived pregnancy quickly (within the first couple months of using it). I heard it can make your hormones CRAZY and make you a psycho "B" person, if you catch my drift. I already have high testosterone... I can't imagine taking something that would elevate those hormones more!!!

My doc wants to use Clomid as the next step. I'll see her at the end of July to determine what we're going to do if I don't get preggo on my own before then. Anyone have any feedback on it? Or any info? I heard multiples are likely with Clomid!

Thank you guys so much! This has helped me to realize that maybe Femara is a better option. I'll do some research on it.

I tried it for one cycle and it gave me night sweats so bad that I didn't sleep for 2 weeks.....I never took it again and decided I'd rather sleep than speed up the process!  :o)

I also read multiples are more common due to the fact that it makes you release more eggs each time, but i also read you can only be on it for about 8 cycles are it then increases your chances of ovarion cancer (just something i read so you may want to ask someone who knows more).  It does seem to work pretty well though as i heard of many women on this forum using it and being successful. I took Clomid 50 mg, and got one mature egg each cycle, no pregnancies.  As soon as I switched to 100mg I produced 3 mature follicles and got pregnant the first month on 100 mg.     I really believe that the clomid producing more follicles made the difference for me.

I will say, I had a lot of side effects.  Hot flashes, sore bb's, but worst of all, and dh would agree- mood sings.  I would cry and then in a second be screaming.   It made me get so angry. About 3 days after my last pill I would start to feel angry.  Little things, like dropping a pencil would make me feel like I was going to erupt.  I would get so angry I would shake and turn red,  I put my poor DH through more than he should have to deal with. But, I swear that the 100 mg worked for me!

I did 4 cycles of Clomid with no success and it did make me really crazy feeling...I got pregnant obviously on my own about a year after those cycles, and Im not the first person that Ive heard of doing that....also I had that dye put in my tubes around the same time, maybe that cleared things out. It was pretty painful and they said maybe I was a little clogged up in my left tube

Joy: I also have high testosterone and did take clomid for 8 months. My RE put me on low dose decadron to take before bedtime to lower my testosterone levels but keep my progesterone levels. I wasn't real B****Y  but I could tell when my mood was changing. I ususally dropped 2 eggs each month. I got my BFP in April but resulted in early m/c. I took Femara this month so we'll see how many follies (and their quality) I have on Monday!

i used clomid to fall preg with 3 of my four children. fell preg, 1st round with my 8 yr old, 2nd round with my 2yr old and 4th round with my bub that im pregnant with now. no twins 4 me but i was bitchy and i did put on weight.

Well I was on clomid for 3 cycles and I just got my BFP on last tuesday! The doctors told me that it wasn't working because my progesterone was still low, but turns out they were wrong! I did have someside effects too, being very irritable was one of them, hot flashes, sore bbs, and bad o pains. but it was all worth it! As far as multiples,I go for my u/s in a couple weeks, we are hoping twins but its ok if not. Do you have problems ovulating? That was my problem, I have PCOS. Good luck!

I know rachie204 got pregnant with it her first or 2nd cycle I believe.  I don't want to speak for her, but it seems like she wasn't on it for along at all when she got her BFP.  I have also heard that multiples are more likely with it as well.  I believe BrownEyedGurl got pregnant with Clomid and she is of course carrying twins, but I don't know if they run in her family or not.

i heard multiples are likely too because you drop more eggs on clomid.  i would strongly suggest you pop into the fertility forum and ask this question,  many of the ladies there are on it and are such sweet ladies.  i also beleive they told me about femara, which is the same thing as clomid but less side effects, so less mega "B"ness you could say.
