Concerned

I'm 19, 7 and a half months pregnant, and only look like i am about 4 months. I haven't gained much weight and I've always been naturally small. Should i be concerned about my baby's health? I'm worried he will not gain enough weight as he is supposed to.

As long as your Dr. has not said anything to you about your weight or lack there and baby is fine, then don't worry, if your that worried talk to your Dr.

Yeah, it depends on how you carry. But as you've said you are naturally small, and if your doctors aren't concerned and your baby is healthy, then you are one of the blessed few. I started looking like a whale from 6 months, and trust me, there's a lot if discomfort that comes with being large. I'll say enjoy your pregnancy!! xx

im sure you will be fine , everyone is different some people dont even show when they are pregnant. it has nothing to do with the baby. its natural some women dont look as pregnant as they should. everything will be fine.

Like mentioned in the previous message, if your baby is healthy then its perfectly fine to be small. Maybe you will suddenly "pop" the last month or so or just be small the entire time. with my first son, I was very small until the last 2 months and I am expecting again. Im 6 months and dont even look pregnant. Some women carry very differently than others.

Are your doctors concerned? It's fine to look small. I looked the exact same right before I went into labour. In fact no one believed me when I told them I was 39 weeks because I looked so much earlier. You can ask your doctors for an ultrasound which can give you an estimated weight. I'm not sure if your insurance will cover it, and your doctors might refuse, but it never hurts to try. As long as you're eating properly and taking your prenatals you should be ok. I also didn't gain weight. In fact I lost weight and my baby still came out perfectly healthy.
